Our Story

A kitchen rooted in
Vermont soil

Vineyard Sound Herbs began as a small dream in a Waitsfield kitchen — a desire to make food the way it was meant to be made: slowly, with intention, and with ingredients you can name.

Today, we bake sourdough loaves that crust crackles at dawn, churn house-made butter from local cream, and curate a selection of pantry staples that our neighbors trust week after week. Everything arrives at your table the same day it was made.

We're not a factory. We're a kitchen on Tucker Hill Road, and every loaf, every jar, every package carries the same care we'd give our own family.

Our Philosophy

The method is
the message

Slow Fermentation

Our sourdough rests for a full 24 hours. No shortcuts. This is what builds the complex flavor, the chewy crumb, and the glass-like crust that makes our bread unmistakable.

Local Ingredients

We source flour from regional mills, butter from Vermont dairies, and fruit from orchards within an hour's drive. The land around us shapes what we make.

Made with Care

Every loaf is shaped by hand. Every jar is filled and sealed the same day it's cooked. We make what we'd be proud to set on our own table — and we invite you to share it with us.

Kind Words

From our neighbors

We drive twenty minutes out of our way every Saturday morning just for their sourdough. No other bakery in the valley comes close.

— A Regular Customer

The preserves are extraordinary. I bought a jar of raspberry for a gift and ended up keeping it for myself. Nothing compares.

— A Loyal Neighbor

There’s something special about walking into their kitchen and smelling fresh bread. It feels like coming home — and the croissants prove it.
